About The Position

Hai Hospitality (Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba) is accepting applications for Sushi Chefs. In this role, you will serve as vital member of our team to enrich the culinary and service experience for our guests. We offer gainful employment as well as great opportunities to grow with the organization long-term! Sushi Chefs can expect the following in estimated compensation: Sushi Chefs are paid an hourly rate that ranges based on experience and will receive tips. Sushi Chefs are estimated to earn an average daily tipout of $50-$200, depending on volume, and after completion of training. The average hourly rate for Sushi Chefs (base pay + tipout) is estimated at $27-$48/hour We are offering a base pay of $21 - $24/hr + benefits!

Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties

Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements
Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives
Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces
Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs
Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area
Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors

Responsibilities

Acquaint yourself with our menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine.
Learn and perfect your sushi techniques under the guidance of our skilled Chef teams.
Understand proper handling and waste reduction of product
Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and cultivate an amazing experience for yourself and the guest
Learn our various sushi stations and progress as your knowledge and skills grows
Collaborate with our teams to create dishes that will be showcased on our specials page and core menu!
