Surgical Technologist, BEST team- Nights, Weekends and Holidays Department: 34413 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Nursing Med Surg: Operating Room Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 36 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Nights, Weekends, Holidays Pay Range $24.85 - $37.30 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.

Requirements

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations

• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
• Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
