About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, our Transporters play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and compassionate environment for patients and their families. From warm greetings to attentive service, you’ll be a key part of the patient experience—helping ensure comfort, dignity, and care every step of the way. What You’ll Do: Escort patients throughout the hospital with courtesy and care Respond promptly and politely to patient needs and questions Build meaningful connections with patients and families Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure patient safety Transport medical records, lab specimens, equipment, and more Change O2 tanks and apply O2 regulators as needed Schedule Details: Full-Time Day Shift : 11:00 pm to 7:00 am Days/Week : Weekdays and Weekends (alternating) Holidays Required Weekends required for the first 2 years. Required Criteria: Must be able to read and write English Ability to follow simple directions Basic clerical skills for logging patient names and destinations Planning skills to efficiently route patient transports Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Strong customer service background Experience in hospitality or healthcare environments A passion for putting patients first The shift includes weekdays, weekends and holidays and requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund.
