About The Position

Surgical Technician Job Duties: The Surgical Technician is responsible for the set-up of the surgical procedure, including the endoscopy procedures. Responsible for the setting up of surgery instruments and tables, and assist with draping of patients. Anticipate the surgeons’ needs to help keep everything running smoothly. To prepare, process, store, distribute and record the supplies handled through the Sterile Processing department. Registered Nurse Job Duties: Works collaboratively with patients, families an other health care providers to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of assigned patients. Follows nursing Standards of Practice to ensure quality, safe patient care. Provides supervisory oversight to assigned staff, and effectively manages supplies, equipment and other resources. The OR/PACU (Surgery) RN position is part of the on-call rotation.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or on the job trained.
Current BLS
Nursing Associate Degree or Diploma required
ACLS and PALS within one year of hire

Nice To Haves

Certification as a surgical technician preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
