About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About this unit Twenty-five operating rooms perform a vast variety of operative procedures/surgical specialties including Trauma and Open-Heart Surgery Programs. The department provides elective and emergency surgery Monday - Sunday, 24 hours per day. Rotating call, holiday, and weekend assignments. It is a Level II trauma center and has been recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart & vascular, and cancer care. Scope of work The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum.

Requirements

  • High school diploma Required
  • 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience.
  • Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
  • Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred
