ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Promote a positive work environment by taking personal responsibility for establishing good working relationships with co-workers. Demonstrate professionalism during all levels of interaction with patients, medical staff, colleagues, and patient families. Identify, sort, and wrap all instrumentation and instrument trays used in hospital. Assist with pulling surgery cases with the Case Cart System. Assist with locating surgery supplies/instruments located in SPD and deliver upon demand. Practice strict infection control habits. Knowledge of proper handling of sterile supplies. Develop understanding of new instrument/equipment, location, use, method of cleaning, wrap and sterilization. Maintain confidentiality in all words and actions within the Sterile Processing Department and Sky Lakes Medical Center. Assist with transporting patients to and from surgery and PACU when requested, safely. Assist Operating Room personnel in positioning patients. Assist Operating Room personnel in setting up cases. Assist with cleaning and maintaining items and areas of surgery between cases, decontamination of operating room and all removable equipment between cases. Assist with collecting, segregating, and disposing of all waste material in all areas. Assist with maintaining levels of scrub supplies and solutions, caps and shoe cover, and cleaning supplies. Assist with removing and replacing all linen on patient beds and gurneys as necessary. MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform other duties as assigned.
