We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Colon & Rectal Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients while scheduling office visits, procedures, and surgeries. You will play a key role in creating a positive patient experience and supporting the overall success of our practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of medical appointment scheduling experience (surgery scheduling preferred)
  • Experience with insurance processes, including prior authorizations preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to details, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated initiative, organization, and sound judgement

Responsibilities

  • Schedule Colon & Rectal clinic visits, procedures, and surgeries for Colon & Rectal Surgery physicians
  • Obtain prior-authorizations from insurance companies for pending surgeries
  • Maintain the Colon & Rectal registry and patient follow-up systems
  • Contact patients to confirm outpatient procedure appointments for assigned providers
  • Communicate with patients and outpatient facility contacts
  • Answer incoming phone calls and follow up on voicemail messages
  • Complete prep instructions, prepare mailings, and send prep materials as requested
  • Provide back up support to Front Desk and Scheduling Departments as needed
  • Comply with policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment and adhere to OSHA standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
