About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Surgery Coder with strong expertise in general surgery, breast surgery, gastroenterology surgery, and head & neck surgery. This role requires accurately coding surgeries directly from PMD, pulling up auto-notes, and completing detailed work with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate is confident, detail‑oriented, and collaborative, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

CPC certification required.
Minimum 2 years of General Surgery coding experience.
Minimum 2 years of Breast Surgery coding experience.
Experience coding general surgery, head & neck, breast, and GI procedures.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
Previous medical coding experience in a similar environment.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
Confident in decision-making and coding methodology.
Effective communicator and collaborative team member.
Comfortable asking questions to ensure correct coding and documentation.

Responsibilities

Perform direct surgery coding for a variety of surgical specialties.
Utilize PMD to review and code surgeries efficiently.
Pull and complete auto notes to ensure accurate documentation.
Review medical documentation and apply appropriate CPT, ICD‑10, and HCPCS codes.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and payer requirements.
Collaborate with team members as needed to resolve coding questions or discrepancies.
Maintain productivity standards and meet accuracy expectations.
