About The Position
14522 – Support System Administrator (hybrid) – Austin, TX Start Date : ASAP Type: Temporary Project Estimated Duration : 12+ months with possible extensions Work Setting: Hybrid. Only candidates able to relocate as required should apply to avoid removal from future consideration. Required: Experience with RHEL and Windows OS (8+ years). Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Assess legacy Windows and RHEL servers to identify end ‑ of ‑ life versions, dependencies, and required upgrade paths. Plan and execute OS upgrades and migrations to supported versions (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and RHEL 5/6/7/8/9) with minimal downtime. Coordinate with application owners and other stakeholders to schedule maintenance windows and validate post ‑ upgrade functionality. Implement security hardening and apply patches on upgraded systems to strengthen security and reduce vulnerabilities. Monitor system performance before and after migrations, tuning configurations to ensure stability and optimal performance. Troubleshoot OS ‑ level issues on Windows and RHEL platforms, resolving incidents and supporting operational continuity. Document migration procedures, configurations, and standard operating procedures to support ongoing operations and future upgrades.
