About The Position

Support Services Manager, under the general supervision of the Director of Parks and Recreation, manages the comprehensive operations of both PARD Administrative Services and Hillcrest Cemetery, overseeing financial and purchasing compliance, budget management, staff supervision, and administrative support for the Parks and Recreation department.

Requirements

  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in administration, accounting or in related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in a managerial position
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of municipal government experience
  • One (1) year of cemetery or funeral services experience

Responsibilities

  • Manages operations at both PARD Administrative Services and Hillcrest Cemetery
  • Oversees and ensures financial policy compliance, including petty cash administration, and assists with budget preparation and management for PARD Administrative Services and Hillcrest Cemetery
  • Provides supervision and development for all direct reports
  • Provides staff support to all Parks and Recreation divisions and serves as a departmental liaison as assigned
  • Supports the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board by coordinating meetings, assisting members, preparing minutes, and compiling the annual report for the City Council
  • Maintains and develops policy documents related to employees, financial procedures, and rentals
  • Processes payment requests for professional services and construction projects, including contract amendments and change orders for PARD initiatives
  • Monitors the Lions Club Gober Party House rental agreement
  • Maintains knowledge of department and city software and updates applicable to Parks Administrative Services
  • Oversees and manages all aspects of cemetery maintenance, including in-house and outsourced projects
  • Ensures the accuracy of all cemetery records, both historical and current
  • Researches and develops funding strategies for Hillcrest Cemetery
  • Achieves all annual goals assigned by the supervisor
  • Follows the city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
