About The Position

The Supply Planning Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the products and materials supply “end to end” to fulfill customer demand within a specific plant. The role supports the development of long-term supply chain strategies for the plant. SIOP process champion and manager of scheduling and network planner teams at the plant level. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders, including executive leadership, to balance supply and demand, identify supply issues/risk and mitigation plans at plants. Is accountable to define and achieving inventory targets at the plant level and ensure the on-time and in full service levels to meet demand. Accountable to formulate and communicate mid to long-term scenarios that balance supply & demand, identify supply issues and risks and effectively collaborate and communicate with supply chain members and stakeholders to resolve or mitigate them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related field or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in a supply chain role – preferably in a scheduling role for manufacturing, if degreed.
  • Minimum of 11 years of experience in similar role, if non-degreed.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience across complex supply chain.
  • Supply Chain ERP experience; Oracle EBS 12.2.6 or greater preferred.
  • Tactical and Strategic Planning.
  • Effective communication skills through all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to Plant and Corporate Leadership.
  • Supply Management.
  • Capacity planning management.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Management of the timing and quantities of goods to be ordered and stocked by an organization in order that demand can always be satisfied without excess expenditure.
  • Key Performance Indicator (KPI) knowledge, experience and understanding of financial or nonfinancial measures, either strategic or tactical that are linked to specific strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lean manufacturing – Gemba walks/ Kaizen.
  • Multisite team management.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership by championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision and Core Values and teaching the Lozier Leadership Model.
  • Instill trust, gaining the confidence of others through honesty, integrity and authenticity.
  • Effectively lead the development of the schedulers and network planners across the plant, promoting effective team communication, and supporting and coaching them for their company career development.
  • Develop Supply Network planner to ensure supply planning for the full MRP Horizon across the plant.
  • Develop schedulers and ensure proper use of all exception reports.
  • Coach and guide supply network planners and detailed schedulers on how to maximize capacity including but not limited to level loading.
  • Champion strategic opportunities across the plant in order to ensure continued service improvement for long term performance and effectively communicate to plant and corporate leadership.
  • Develop proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to supply plans.
  • Contribute to standardized weekly and monthly planning process (MPS and SIOP preparation) for specified plant.
  • Monitor finished goods & sub-assembly inventory levels, slow-moving and obsolete, and capacity constraints usage across plant and communicate to plant and corporate leadership on strategies to mitigate inventory risk.
  • Responsible for operational turns target at the plant level.
  • Understand material needs and ensure plans to fulfil them are aligned with plant-wide objectives.
  • Provide support for resolving issues that arise during the execution of supply plans, such as unexpected changes in demand or delays in shipments.
  • Lead weekly Tier 4 scheduling meetings at the plant level.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to improve planning processes, inventory turns, and reduce costs at plant level.
  • Lead plant level Kaizen events.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completed assignments.
