About The Position

The Farmer’s Dog is seeking a Supply Planning Manager to evolve our supply planning function into a scalable, data- and AI-driven capability. You will own ingredient-level planning, transforming manual, spreadsheet-based processes into automated, system-driven workflows that ensure product availability while optimizing working capital and efficiency. You will manage supplier capacity, raw material WOH, and contract performance using real-time data, advanced analytics, and scenario modeling. Partnering closely with Data Science (DSI), you’ll build and scale planning tools, data pipelines, and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making. This is a highly cross-functional role, working with Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Growth, and Product to align on plans, mitigate risk, and drive continuous improvement through automation. This role reports to the Director of Planning & Analytics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or strategic planning roles, ideally in high-volume CPG or DTC environments, with a track record of managing complex SKU portfolios.
  • You have a strong analytical and technical skillset with experience leveraging data to drive automated, system-based decision-making. Proficient in SQL and comfortable working across modern data tools (e.g., BigQuery, Sigma, Hex) to build scalable models, dashboards, and workflows.
  • You have experience partnering with Data Science / Analytics teams to productionize data pipelines, automate reporting, and replace manual (Excel/Google Sheets) processes with backend systems.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to apply advanced analytics and AI/ML-driven approaches to improve forecasting inputs, optimize inventory and supply decisions, and identify risks and opportunities.
  • You have a deep understanding of supply chain metrics and modeling, including service levels (OTIF), capacity planning, inventory optimization (WOH), and cost drivers (COGS, PPV, yield), with the ability to operationalize these in data models.
  • You have clear, confident and persuasive verbal & written communication skills when working with a diverse group of cross-stakeholders
  • You have proven the ability to lead end-to-end initiatives—from problem definition and data exploration to building automated solutions and driving adoption.
  • You are a strong problem-solver and take a proactive approach to overcoming operational challenges.
  • You are adaptable and resilient in a dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment.
  • You have experience integrating systems across planning, procurement, and manufacturing; familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, and modern planning architectures is a plus.
  • You love dogs!

Responsibilities

  • Own ingredient-level supply planning, translating forecasts into automated, system-driven supply plans that align production, sourcing, and inventory across the network.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for supply planning data, models, and workflows, with full ownership of inputs, outputs, and data integrity.
  • Partner with DSI to replace spreadsheet-based workflows with scalable backend systems, building data pipelines, tools, and dashboards in BigQuery, Sigma, and Hex.
  • Design and evolve a next-generation, data-enabled MRP (Material Requirements Planning) framework—leveraging automation, real-time data, and advanced analytics to improve speed, accuracy, and decision quality.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate inefficiencies across supply planning by deploying data-driven and AI-powered solutions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, and Demand Planning to ensure alignment on system-driven plans, contract execution, and financial outcomes.
  • Build and operationalize advanced scenario modeling (“what-if” simulations) to anticipate constraints, optimize tradeoffs, and enable proactive decision-making.
  • Integrate product launches, transitions, and network changes into automated planning systems with clear visibility to risks and dependencies.
  • Support S&OP / IBP with forward-looking, data-driven insights that enable faster, more confident decisions.
  • Champion a culture shift to proactive, tech-enabled planning through automation, standardization, and continuous innovation.
