The Supply Management Coordinator (SMC) is responsible for all aspects of management of the annual supply inventory. Will work closely with Foundation purchasing as national purchasing options affecting are pursued. Will ensure that proper inventory levels are met for daily operations. The incumbent in this position is responsible for evaluating, assessing, recommending, developing, and implementing supply cost reduction initiatives to meet departmental strategic objectives. Will be responsible for evaluating the need for supply consistency/standardization and look for opportunities to increase supply reimbursement. Will assure quality supplies are purchased at reasonable costs. The person in the position will provide supply management instruction to supervisors, oversee computer and manual inventory systems, coordinate recalls and alerts with user, vendor and/or government agencies, be actively involved with negotiations. Will also be responsible for routinely monitoring and reporting on the department's cost saving activities.
