About The Position

As a Supply Chain Process Engineering Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to play a vital role on the Process Engineering team in optimizing and improving the overall efficiency of Supply Chain processes with Best Buy. You’ll analyze, measure, design, and support the implementation of supply chain processes to ensure consistent cost-effective operations, and drive customer satisfaction. Within the team, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional areas including Distribution Operations Support, Field Operations, and Global Logistics & Trade, etc. to identify areas of improvement, develop innovative solutions and drive operational excellence. This internship also will give you the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees and explore a wide variety of career paths. This internship runs from June to August 2026 and is an on-site role. Interns are required to be in person five days per week at the Best Buy Distribution Center in Piscataway, NJ to support Operations. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full‑time opportunity. Housing will not be provided, so candidates must be able to commute to the distribution center for the duration of the internship.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2026 and spring 2029
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time)
  • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/1/2026- 8/7/2026
  • Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Piscataway - Best Buy Distribution Center (DDC), 300 Ridge Rd, Piscataway, NJ 8854
  • Must be able to work in person 5 days per week at our DDC for the duration of the internship
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Engineered Labor Standards
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience with CAD or AutoCAD
  • Experience in a hands-on manufacturing or warehousing environment
  • Experience with project management
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or relevant coursework
  • Strong knowledge of 5S and Safety Standards in Supply Chain
  • Majoring in Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Support the Process Engineering team in the identification, verification, analysis, and implementation of process improvements
  • Assist in the development of engineered labor standards by conducting time studies
  • Participate in the design and development of Distribution and Fulfillment processes to refine operations, documentation, and reporting
  • Identify potential future impacts for other operational and functional areas based on current trends and make recommendations to business leaders to influence change
  • Prepare financial presentations, process documentation, and SOPs
