The internships are a temporary summer position that lasts for 12 CONTINUOUS weeks beginning in May or June 2027. As a Supply Chain Intern, you will experience an exciting summer that offers a wide range of opportunities for professional development. Lilly has nearly 700 individuals in the Supply Chain community whose responsibility is to enable reliable, on-time delivery to our customers. These individuals move materials either physically or virtually across geographic boundaries and time zones to be sure that the medicine is available when the patient needs it. By giving employees, the opportunity to strengthen their skills through a variety of assignments, we further increase the possibilities for professional achievement, and the success of our company.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program related to Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Anticipated graduation by August 2028
  • Successful completion of a previous Lilly internship
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor the following work authorization or visas for this role: F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

Responsibilities

  • Operating specific supply chain business processes at a Global level, providing visibility, integrating proposed changes and resolving issues, enhancing global supply chain management skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Conducting supply chain processes within a manufacturing Network which includes confirming validity of near-term demand forecast, developing product family forecasts and passing dependent demands to all impacted sites via SAP.
  • Leading or participating in a global or site product launch team and further developing leadership and project management skills.
  • Executing Master Scheduling, Shop Floor Control, Material Requirements Planning and/or Purchasing Processes to achieve safety, quality, service and financial performance at a manufacturing site or clinical trial organization and improve operational planning and execution skills.
  • Serving as the link between Lilly Affiliates / Trading Companies and the sites in a Customer Service role to maintain the highest possible standard of customer service and developing expertise in customer service and supply chain management.
  • Working with a team focused on completion of a specific, strategic supply chain project using world-class tools and processes and learning to apply cutting-edge supply chain tools and methodologies.
  • Serving as an integrator of material master data between a manufacturing site, the business unit and the sales and marketing affiliate by learning data integration techniques and leveraging cross-functional collaboration.
  • Leading or participating in logistical activities to support and improve distribution channels and learn how to optimize for better performance.
