JOB DESCRIPTION Supplier Quality Management: Coordinate and manage the quality systems of global suppliers to ensure purchased parts meet BMW's / Magna product specifications. New Product Launches: Lead quality aspects of new product launches, verifying supplier and parts development, and ensuring compliance with specifications from handover to Supplier Quality Assurance through to the start of production (SOP). Advanced Quality Planning: Support Module Quality Engineers with activities like risk assessments, process flow diagramming, and product development. Supplier Audits & Development: Conduct process and quality management system audits at supplier locations to validate their ability to produce new parts and processes. Problem Solving: Lead quality problem-solving processes for supplier-related issues, using methodologies like the 8D approach. Communication & Collaboration: Communicate with other BMW / Magna plants and teams worldwide to ensure consistent quality standards and engage in joint problem-solving. Process Execution: Oversee the "process series" (series of tests and validations) with suppliers before the Start of Production (SOP) to ensure everything is on track. Reporting & Metrics: Review and develop new supplier quality and production systems and analyze monthly supplier ratings. Part Approval Process: Manage the BMW Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) release process / PPAP and contribute to the overall part approval process for assigned suppliers.

Requirements

  • University degree/college diploma or successful completion of career-related courses
  • 3–5 years of experience in the quality field in a technical capacity
  • Adept with problem-solving methodologies; Demonstrated ability to use structured problem-solving methodologies to drive effective and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of all quality concepts and phases, including PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and control plans
  • Computer literacy with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work any shift schedule according to business needs
  • Ability to work overtime and travel with little notice
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, coordinate, integrate internal data, and clearly articulate concepts/ideas related to quality engineering
  • Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills to prioritize, coordinate projects, manage conflicting needs, and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and recommend new suppliers, products, and processes.
  • Excellent communication/negotiation skills with peers and suppliers in a positive, cooperative way while maintaining productive and professional relationships with key functional areas

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Familiarity with BMW’s quality computer systems (QSYS, SPQM, SAP)
  • Project Management experience specifically in managing project events, timelines, and coordinating multiple stakeholders
  • Prior exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other CI frameworks.
