About The Position

The Supplements Buyer is responsible for managing the vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements category in the Apothecary department. This includes maintaining appropriate inventory levels, driving category performance, and creating a welcoming and educational environment for Customers seeking natural health solutions. The Supplements Buyer must balance analytical and Customer-facing responsibilities while supporting the Plum Market mission of wellness and integrity. Requirements

  • Previous retail or purchasing experience, especially in wellness or supplement categories (6+ months preferred).
  • Deep product knowledge in vitamins, minerals, and supplements.
  • Strong communication and Guest interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps and the ability to adapt and learn new software solutions.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties, including standing and walking up to 4 hours without a break, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and pushing/pulling carts up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase and stock supplement inventory to ensure optimal availability and category rotation.
  • Monitor department sales and trends, adjusting orders to meet performance and margin targets.
  • Maintain pricing accuracy, signage, and merchandising across shelves and displays.
  • Educate team members and Customers about products, benefits, and usage.
  • Engage with vendors for product knowledge, samples, and promotional opportunities.
  • Track special orders and ensure timely fulfillment of Customer needs.
  • Work with department leadership to plan seasonal resets, new product launches, and category reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory labeling, safety practices, and company SOPs.
  • Contribute to an inspiring and knowledgeable Apothecary shopping experience.
