About The Position

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager Transportation, the Supervisor Transportation is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department. They delegate duties to team members, ensuring the essential operations of the department are achieved and maintained. They communicate service issues, safety concerns, training needs and guest retention efforts to the Assistant Manager, Transportation. Coordinates with supporting departments to maintain department operations and service expectations, while championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that reflects and upholds the Tribal Community’s vision, mission, and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field degree required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of hotel or casino management or supervisory experience or training in direct supervision required.
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite required.
  • Ability to learn new systems, software, and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, friendly, and confident.
  • Experience in dealing with the public in an effective, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Must have or obtain a California Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, B, or C with a passenger endorsement with a valid DMV Medical Certificate.
  • Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience in a Casino or Hospitality preferred.
  • Experience in training and developing employees to assist them in achieving full competence in the shortest amount of time preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic execution of established policies and procedures to facilitate the successful daily operation of the Transportation Department while maintaining regulatory compliance to meet defined standards and expectations.
  • Completes operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, problem resolution, and procedure implementation.
  • Motivate, inspire, and engage team members by exemplifying strong leadership, acknowledging both major and minor accomplishments, and cultivating a culture of continuous learning and development. Provide mentorship, training, and guidance through regular interactions, delivering constructive feedback to improve and maintain workflow productivity.
  • Maintain department safety standards, expectations, and immediately address unsafe practices and situations to leadership.
  • Conducts all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism by providing an enthusiastic and authentic time-based greeting, displaying professional non-verbal communication, showing genuine interest, using the guest’s name naturally, anticipating guest needs with a thoughtful touch, and conveying a sincere thank you and farewell.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
