About The Position

The primary function of the Steward Supervisor is to assist with and adhere to casino/hotel specifications and standards in operating the dishwashing machine to wash designated restaurant, banquet and kitchen wares, clean and maintain kitchen lines and pantry areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months to one year steward experience required
  • One year supervisory experience  required
  • Serve Safe Certified
  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills: Knowledge of dish machine maintenance and chemical safety Speed  and accuracy in order to maintain maximum efficiency Knowledge of sanitation standards and procedures
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, public relations, and employee motivational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Steward and F&B management team  in operations of Restaurants
  • Ensure effective use of  labor and manage productivity on an hourly basis
  • Assist and adhere to department and company policies/procedures with labor standards and staffing schedules
  • Assist and adhere to department Code Green F&B Audits
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas and equipment
  • Work on daily basis to improve stewarding efficiency, organization and work flow
  • Assist Executive Steward with the inventory of all glass, silver, and china
  • Assist in maintaining necessary inventories of kitchen cleaning products and equipment
  • Responsible for completion of washing china, glassware, silverware, mopping and sweeping floors, and keeping  work area clean and organized
  • Responsible for the completion for the overall cleanliness of the floors as directed 
  • Actively involved in the completion of all daily tasks and duties
  • Maintain all areas for a safe clean environment base on Health Department and internal standards
  • Issue maintenance work orders on needed repairs  
  • Make routine inspections of stations to ensure proper setup, ample supplies and cleaning procedures in all areas are being followed
  • Assist with the training of new team members
  • Train food and beverage staff on chemical safety and proper ware washing procedures
  • Ensure proper maintenance of  dish machine
  • Communicate and enforce company expectations including Code of Commitment, policies, procedures, department goals and business strategy
  • Ensure service recovery activities
  • Train subordinates, providing each with the knowledge, development and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities
  • Provide continuous positive coaching for development of employees and appropriate corrective action when necessary in conjunction with the Executive Steward
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work history entries
  • Exhibit sound decision-making with emphasis on motivating team and maintaining high morale
  • Enforce all appearance and uniform guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
