About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Special Events, the incumbent is responsible for working with the Director on the overall planning of Special Events, Promotions and Gaming Tournaments including, coordination, execution and implantation. Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations Plan, produce and maintain an on-going schedule of promotions, sponsorships, festivals and special events. Develop theme, format and budget specifications for specific events. Develop proformas for new promotions or player events, review the results of past promotions and events and make recommendations for the feasibility of repeating or modifying those promotions. Create and maintain purchase requisitions, proformas, budget updates and accounting follow-up as needed per event. Assist the Director to oversee expenditures to ensure budget requirements are met. Assist the Director to create and coordinate all decor requirements for themed parties, promotions, sponsorships and special events. Communicate all events information to operating departments to ensure timely coordination of all events. Responsible for working with the marketing team to provide the needed information from the events to produce weekly reports to track revenue and expenses for all events. Maintain positive relationships with existing vendors/clients as well as acquire and develop positive relationships with new vendors/clients for the appropriate planning, decorating and execution of the marketing events, promotions and gaming tournaments. Assists with the coordination of all direct mail collateral as it relates to all marketing events. Determine staffing needs and work schedules necessary to implement special events (with in-house and outside vendors) Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc. Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations. Conduct personal behavior and select, train, coach, counsel, appraise and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication. Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Special Events/Promotions experience in planning and execution required.
  • High Volume, multi project experience in event planning execution in a large volume company.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and days, including holidays, days, nights and weekends.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain positive working relationships with multiple departments for effective efficient collaboration.
  • Creative and strategic thinking with emphasis on customer service to meet customer objectives for an event.
  • Must be able to plan and implement and set strict time lines and adhere to approved budgets.
  • Must be able to lift, unpack and move boxes.
  • Must be able to stand up to 8 plus hours.
