About The Position

Requirements

  • Associate degree or an equivalent experience in the HVAC industry or a similar industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exhibits good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in shipping systems and software applications, such as ERP systems, warehouse management systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations and transportation methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet business needs.
  • Works effectively in a team environment while remaining positive and helpful in all situations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and leads a team of shipping personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Establishes shipping policies and procedures and directs shipping programs accordingly.
  • Plans and organizes daily shipping activities, including prioritizing orders, assigning tasks, and coordinating schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Ensures weekly production schedules are in alignment with customer-requested ship dates.
  • Ensures accurate packing and shipping of orders, verifying quantities and product quality before shipment.
  • Inspects labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by conducting regular stock checks, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitors shipping supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper maintenance to support efficient operations.
  • Collaborates with other departments such as production, warehouse, and customer service to coordinate shipping activities and address any issues or concerns.
  • Provides proper and timely feedback to customer service for possible delayed shipments while implementing alternative and innovative solutions to unforeseen delays.
  • Implements and enforces safety procedures and standards to create a safe working environment for shipping personnel.
  • Continuously evaluates shipping processes and identifies opportunities for improvement, implementing measures to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepares and maintains shipping records, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Handles customer inquiries and complaints related to shipping, investigating issues and resolving them in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in shipping and logistics, incorporating new knowledge into departmental processes and procedures.
  • Provides a high level of customer service to the manufacturing team.
  • Resolves problems relating to shortages, variances, or other impediments to smooth flow of shipments from the facility.
  • Communicates effectively with management and team to achieve department/company goals.
