About The Position

Supervises all aspects of the Shipping Department to ensure
accurate and timely product delivery for the customer. Responsibilities also
include the assignment of department employees and the coordination of workflow
with other departments. Trains employees and evaluate progress.

Requirements

• The minimum education required for this position is a High School Diploma or Equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.
• Typically possesses 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
• First level of supervision or project lead. Responsible for a team performing on function. Leads, assigns, and monitors work for a team.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret, and create simple correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitors shipping schedule for outgoing products
• Inspects packaged product to ensure customer specifications are met
• Assign tasks to personnel to ensure all job duties are completed and downtime is minimized
• Evaluated performance of individual employees based on goals for productivity and quality
• Develop and implement processes to reduce labor and material costs
• Trains new employees and provides any necessary
• Ensures compliance with established plant policies and procedures
• Communicate with other department managers and supervisors regarding production schedules and requirements to ensure product quality and resource efficiency
• Other duties as assigned
