About The Position

The Supervisor Production SLZ will manage a team of production workers in daily manufacturing operations, focusing on safety, quality, on-time order delivery, and continuous improvements. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, monitoring production schedules to meet customer demands, and promptly addressing any deviations or equipment downtime. The role also involves implementing Lean and Six Sigma concepts, conducting Kaizen events, driving 5S activities, and supporting Quality Control initiatives. The supervisor will be responsible for training staff on new and existing work assignments, machinery, tools, and processes, ensuring consistency with the organization's quality systems. Additionally, the position requires preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on various key performance indicators such as schedule attainment, OEE, productivity, production volumes, on-time delivery, downtime, and headcount, as well as managing payroll approvals, safety, and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relative experience
  • One (1) to Three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong emphasis on state and local safety regulations, safety compliance, and training
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in leading Lean/Kaizen activities strongly preferred
  • Work experience in TPS/or similar environment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of production workers in day-to-day manufacturing operations, including safety, quality, on-time order delivery, and continuous improvements
  • Ensure all safety rules, regulations, and programs are followed by production staff
  • Audit and address all departmental safety hazards, equipment and guarding malfunctions, and personal safety violations
  • Monitor production schedules and customer demands to ensure accurate and timely order completion
  • Respond to order deviations, schedule adjustments, set-up planning, equipment downtime, etc., with a sense of urgency
  • Drive standardized work as applicable to assigned area
  • Employ Lean and Six Sigma concepts and practices
  • Conduct Kaizen events
  • Drive 5S activities and visual management
  • Support Quality Control circle activities
  • Participate in corrective action/root cause events
  • Train staff on new and existing work assignments, machinery, tools, and processes consistent with the organization’s quality systems and documented standard work
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on standard KPIs (schedule attainment, OEE, productivity, production volumes, on-time delivery, downtime, headcount, etc.), payroll approvals, safety, and continuous improvement projects
