Our pharmacy department plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely availability of medications across our system. As the Supervisor of Pharmacy Purchasing, you will have the opportunity to lead a team that directly supports patient outcomes through effective procurement strategies, vendor relationships, and inventory management.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Pharmacy Technician registration in the primary state of work
  • Nationally recognized pharmacy technician credential (CPhT or ExCPT), following state timelines: Wisconsin: Within 6 months of hire Minnesota: Within 12 months of hire Iowa: Within 12 months of hire
  • 3–5 years pharmacy experience
  • Experience in purchasing or procurement
  • Experience in pharmaceutical purchasing, inventory, supplies, and/or 340B
  • Experience managing supplier relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement processes
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical purchasing contracts

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement of pharmaceutical products and related supplies
  • Lead and support the pharmacy purchasing team
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing and contracts
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure efficient, cost‑effective stock management
  • Support regulatory compliance across all areas of pharmaceutical purchasing
  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and other departments to forecast needs
  • Optimize purchasing processes to meet quality, budget, and operational goals
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and manage contract performance
  • Support patient care by ensuring the availability of essential medications and supplies
