About The Position

Department: 37703 Atrium Health Pineville - Surgery Room Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 4-5 days/week preferred Pay Range $24.10 - $36.15 Essential Functions Develops assignments to ensure the work is performed per written procedures and guidelines to promote safe, economical, and efficient patient care. Identifies training needs and participates in presentation of in-services. Coordinates and evaluates orientation process. Evaluates teammate performance and assists with completing annual performance appraisals. Manages the interview process for potential candidates by scheduling interviews and arranging peer interviews. Assists with preventative maintenance of OR equipment processes and reporting/tracking broken or malfunctioning equipment. Ensures physician preferences for equipment and positioning needs are met. Monitors and orders supplies to ensure par levels are maintained. Education, Experience and Certifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Assistant required. Operating Room Assistant Lead or Environmental Services Supervisor experience preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required within 90 days of hire. Physical Requirements Must have the use of both hands and all fingers and is required to use hands for gripping, speed work and precision during the manipulation of equipment for the surgery patient. Vision and hearing for distances of up to twenty feet required; must demonstrate depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors. Requires frequent long or irregular work hours, rotating shifts, walking on hard surfaces, being near moving equipment, changes in temperature, humidity, and exposure to blood borne pathogens. Works indoors with intermittent noise and exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, and chemicals. Must be able to handle equipment and monitoring supplies. Must possess good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff. Requires strenuous physical effort to walk, stretch, bend, climb stairs, twist, squat or kneel in moving/positioning the anesthetized patient by lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 51 pounds in handling patients and medical equipment/supplies. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Assistant required.
