What We’re Looking For: As a Supervisor of Auditing, you will be instrumental in addressing consulting and educational needs related to coding quality, compliance assessments, coding education, and coding workflow operations reviews. In this role, you will offer meaningful information tailored to exceed customer expectations, actively identifying and presenting solutions for customer issues. You will provide leadership and guidance to the Datavant External and Internal Auditing teams regarding activity, status, trends, coaching/feedback methods and coordination of additional resources to support coding quality. This role is fully remote with a flexible schedule, allowing you to help shape the future of healthcare from your own workspace!

Requirements

  • 5+ years of coding experience
  • 3+ years of auditing experience
  • CCS or CPC (required), RHIA or RHIT preferred
  • Previous experience with coordinating/leading special projects
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and prioritization
  • Excellent client and customer relations skills required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently remotely in a team environment.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to meet department needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to grasp the key points from complicated details and provide direction/coaching to members of the team.

  • Experience with adult learning methodologies and distance learning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as liaison between front line auditors and Director of Auditing and sometimes with a client for all External Audit projects.
  • Serves as liaison between front line auditors and Manager of Internal Auditing and Coding Operations for all Internal Audit projects.
  • Directs all aspects of the Datavant External Auditing and Internal Auditing team, including evidence-based, ongoing supply and demand planning under the guidance of the Director of Auditing Services.
  • Communicates status of workload, workflow, and process efficacy to management (Director of Auditing Services, Manager of Internal Auditing).
  • Oversees the timely execution of external auditing reviews including data loading, review creation, and submission of reports to coding clients.
  • Oversees the timely execution of internal onboarding and SLA reviews.
  • Collaborates with Lead Auditors to maintain appropriate staffing levels and client access.
  • Collaborates with Lead Auditors with weekly audit schedules and plan.
  • Collaborates with Lead Auditors with onboarding of new auditors.
  • Assesses productivity on a monthly basis, at minimum, provides feedback, implements countermeasures to auditors as needed to ensure objectives are met.
  • Engages Director of Auditing as necessary for counseling and discipline as needed.
  • Reviews daily productivity reports, once finalized, to identify significant deviations from expectation, investigates as needed.
  • Manages team member’s PTO requests to optimize continuity of service, minimize operational disruption.
  • Identify and implement improvement measures that will enhance department operations and customer service.
  • Function as a resource to employees for questions and additional training.
  • Performs regular performance reviews in accordance with Datavant policy.
  • Ensures timely submission and approval of timecards.
  • Facilitates all scheduled and ad-hoc meetings for coding operations in conjunction with the Manager of Internal Auditing & Director of Auditing Services.
  • Facilitates all scheduled and ad-hoc meetings for external auditing clients in conjunction with the Director of Auditing Services.
  • Must be customer-service focused and exhibit professionalism, flexibility, dependability, desire to learn, commitment to excellence and commitment to profession.
  • Strong organizational, teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Adhere to the American Health Information Management Association or Academy of Professional Coder’s code of ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
