GENERAL PURPOSE: To lead, direct, develop and coordinate the outbound flow of merchandise from distribution centers to crossdocks. This position will monitor and adjust the workflow and staff based on volume and productivity needs. The outbound flow of merchandise must be provided at an economical level according to Ross service requirements. This position will interface with carriers, crossdock providers, and Ross departments or divisions as appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Responsible for the analysis and execution of optimal equipment levels for multiple DCs based on carrier volume forecasts. • Supervise a staff of 2-4 associates coordinating the outbound supply-chain activity, routing and tracking over 100K shipments annually from our distribution centers to our crossdocks and trailer transfer volumes. • Execute and implement the transportation plan for outbound freight from Ross distribution centers to crossdocks. Provide analysis and support to the outbound group in all areas of outbound transportation, including routing guide compliance, transit, tracking & tracing. This will be accomplished through analysis and execution of TMS systems. • Develop and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs and provide analytical data to support results. • Support customer service to multiple divisions with Ross to resolve any Transportation-related issues or problems.
