About The Position

The Supervisor – Support Services & Logistics is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Archives and facility support functions, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in archiving and logistics. This role provides leadership, direction, and oversight for staff, equipment, and workflow processes to maintain efficient, safe, and high‑quality operations. How will you make an impact & Requirement This is an onsite position in our Leesburg, VA facility.

Requirements

  • College Degree or at least 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledgeable in all phases of archiving techniques.
  • Working knowledge of instruments and equipment used in the facilities and able to trouble shoot.
  • Understand thoroughly the Standard Operating and Quality Control procedures of the Archives.
  • Superior role model leadership behaviors – ability to lead and motivate others while actively displaying Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of import/export and the regulatory requirements for international shipments.
  • Certified in IATA, DOT and HazMat training.
  • Completion of the orientation program with: An understanding of our work and how it must be completed in compliance with applicable US and OECD regulations and our Standard Operating Procedures. An understanding of Chemical Safety and the proper use of safety equipment. Understanding the Standard Operating Procedures and equipment associated with their duties. Understanding the significance of Quality Control procedures and performing their work accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an effective system for the day-to-day work assignments.
  • Maintain Transportation Guidelines and Polices for EPL Transport.
  • Keep the Facility Operations Management informed on the day-to-day progress of the facility, including irregularities and deviations from the normal.
  • Supervise team members in their training and work assignments.
  • Assist in providing an adequate number of personnel, resources, facilities, equipment and materials to ensure business/job functions can be performed as scheduled.
  • Assist with the scheduling of projects and monitoring schedule status and projects.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and needs of the facility and keep the Facility Operations Management and Supervisor – Facility Maintenance informed of the same.
  • Keep abreast of current literature, new methods, and industry best practices applicable to Archiving and the services provided by the Archives.
  • Appraise and maintain all laboratory procedures and the working environment in a healthy and safe manner in accordance with company policy and OSHA requirements.
  • Take part in company planning activities and/or committee assignments.
  • Make recommendations regarding policy and/or procedure changes.
