About The Position

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating all driver communication, logistics scheduling, and transportation workflow for the facility. Serving as the primary point of contact for our drivers, vendor partners, and onsite operations, the Dispatcher ensures timely pick-ups, deliveries, and documentation accuracy. This role helps maintain smooth facility operations by monitoring driver activity, managing dispatch calendars, supporting shipping and receiving, and assisting with inventory tracking. The Dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring efficient transportation flow and strong communication across teams. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a dispatcher, logistics coordinator, or related role
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced logistics environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Any combination of education and experience will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily dispatch of facility drivers for all pick-ups, returns, and vendor deliveries
  • Staffing the logistics/dispatch window, greeting drivers, vendors, and customers
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with drivers and tracking movements throughout the day
  • Coordinating with external carriers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries
  • Obtaining and submitting driver paperwork, bills of lading, and vendor documents accurately into internal systems
  • Assisting with scheduling mulch pick-ups and CHEP/Peco/ While wood pallet returns
  • Supporting shipping and receiving with inventory tracking and documentation as needed
  • Assisting facility leadership in managing dispatch and order calendars
  • Escalating issues or delays to the Transportation Manager as appropriate
  • Building strong, collaborative partnerships with PLA staff, vendors, drivers, and customers
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the transportation and logistics team
