About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization and a family of programs, is committed to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Our mission is to tackle systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity for all. We offer a wide range of services, including mental health care, residential and outpatient substance use treatment, and primary health services. Additionally, we provide transitional support for individuals re-entering the community after involvement in the criminal justice system. By integrating physical and behavioral health, we empower individuals to overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery. The Men’s Residential program at 890 Hayes provides overnight residential support and supervision for program participants. The site also includes Acceptance Place, a residential program for adult males who identify as gay, bisexual, or transgender. Both programs operate within a structured, community-based residential setting focused on safety, accountability, and supportive services. The Overnight Supervisor is responsible for supervising overnight staff and overseeing program operations during overnight hours to ensure a safe, secure, and well-functioning residential environment. This role focuses on staff supervision, shift coordination, safety oversight, and operational continuity in alignment with HealthRIGHT 360’s mission, values, policies, and procedures. The Overnight Supervisor plays a key role in onboarding and training overnight staff, monitoring compliance with program expectations, and serving as the primary point of contact for overnight operational issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with efficient and effective treatment and management of clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
  • Knowledge of and experience with providing trauma informed services.
  • Qualified candidates with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a satisfactory background check.
  • Must be capable of meeting health screening and tuberculosis testing requirements.
  • Must be capable of maintaining credential requirements.
  • Must be capable of meeting the program and funder requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Bilingual in SF county threshold languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, training, and guidance to overnight direct service staff.
  • Ensure all direct reports comply with HealthRIGHT 360 policies, procedures, position expectations, and performance standards.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and complete formal performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct shift huddles at the start of each shift, delegate staff assignments, and ensure adequate coverage throughout the overnight hours.
  • Identify staff strengths and development areas and support professional growth.
  • Coordinate and deliver required training and resources for overnight staff.
  • Provide coaching, follow-up, and performance management to ensure expectations are met.
  • Support management with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and termination processes as needed.
  • Address performance issues, including documentation and corrective action, in collaboration with management.
  • Maintain open communication with the Program Director and Manager regarding staffing needs, concerns, and overnight operations.
  • Oversee overnight program operations to ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, and the facility.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols, emergency procedures, and house rules during overnight hours.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, or crises related to resident or facility safety and ensure appropriate follow-up and reporting.
  • Serve as the escalation point for overnight staff concerns and decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of required overnight logs, incident reports, and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate with daytime leadership to ensure continuity of operations and communication across shifts.
  • Ensure overnight activities and operations align with organizational values, mission, vision, and program expectations.
  • Support compliance with programmatic and contractual requirements relevant to overnight operations.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist with overnight scheduling as needed.
  • Collaborate with management and quality teams to support policy adherence and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate operational needs, trends, or concerns identified during overnight hours to program leadership.
  • Provide direct, non-clinical support as needed during overnight hours, including conflict de-escalation, rule enforcement, and resident check-ins related to safety and program expectations.
  • Take ownership of overnight incidents or crises and ensure they are addressed through proper procedures and communication channels.
