The Communications/Records Supervisor is responsible for ensuring top tier execution of Communication Center functions by elevating the proficiencies of assigned staff and managing relationships with various customers. This role entails being a driving force for enhancing customer service, improving efficiencies and execution, and collaborating with Public Safety team members to identify strategic outcomes for the improvement of all department functions. Key responsibilities include: Communicating strategic priorities to staff and driving improvement initiatives. Serving as a leader in a highly functioning department with ability to unlock full potential of assigned staff. Development of efficient procedures, guidelines, and workflows for operating a Communications Center. Effectively utilize data and intelligence to enhance decision making and maintain components to ensure a continuous operational Communications Center. Remain organized and engaged with staffing administrative duties while identifying solution-based opportunities to sustain critical functions. This position reports to and provides support to the Director of Emergency Management on areas that focus on resiliency building, preparedness activities, and improving operational communications. This position is deemed mission essential to the functions of Public Safety at UCO. In case of inclement weather or other emergency situations, the position is expected to report to work as directed. Subordinates to this position work shifts 24/7/365 and the supervisor will be expected to work varying shifts on occasion as well as modify work schedules weekly to ensure operational objectives and to engage with subordinates.
