About The Position

The Accounting Supervisor will supervise, review, and coordinate the accounting of international operations within the Metal Solutions business unit, while supporting the domestic team standardize functional reporting across multiple ERPs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Reporting to the Metal Solutions Sr. Director, this role will assist in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting the monthly accounting close and related tasks, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the monthly accounting close and related tasks, including but not limited to preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and performing other assigned duties. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist in enhancing the monthly close, consolidation, and internal reporting processes, both directly and through the supervision of multiple staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a progression of responsibilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle R12, NetSuite, JDE, Epicor) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle R12, NetSuite, JDE, Epicor)

Responsibilities

  • Review and report on international operations that consolidate into domestic ERP
  • Lead a team of 2+ staff; oversight over international team
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee daily general ledger activities across multiple ERPs
  • Conduct financial analysis of key metrics and generate reports to support management decisions
  • Prepare (and review) journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Division and Segment leadership
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Coordinate and assist with internal / external audit requests
  • Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff
  • Assist with developing and carrying out process improvement initiatives
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
