About The Position

Supervises the daily operations and activities of the accounting department. Ensures that financial information and operating reports, statistics and general ledger accurately reflects the performance of the organization, supervises the compilation, reconciliation, and preparation of various financial reports and analysis. Provides quality customer service to internal and external customers. Assures compliance with governmental, organizational, and departmental regulatory standards and best practices. JOB SUMMARY Key Job Responsibilities Essential Function Apprises Assistant Controller of all activities, pertinent changes in internal/external market, threats, and opportunities in a timely and anticipatory manner and presents action plans for immediate implementation/approval. Supervises and coordinates the daily operation and activities of the accounting area according to established policies and procedures. Assists Accounting leadership in developing and improving policies and procedures as well as performs research on regulatory and industry requirements and changes. Assists in reviewing the accuracy of the Accounts Payable, Payroll, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Prepaids, and Accounts Receivable Subledgers to the General Ledger and provides feedback and guidance to the accountants who prepare those reports. Reviews all journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff and senior accountants. Assists Accounting leadership in planning and executing on Month-End Close, Annual Audit, Financial Analysis, Tax Preparation, as well as internal and external reporting as needed. Manages the implementation of accounting systems to support general ledger, implement and improve internal controls for the accounting systems, and identify and implement efficiencies in systems and procedures. Assists Accounting leadership in developing/maintaining an appropriate and accurate Chart of Account and trains staff in the proper selection and interpretation of the chart of accounts. Develops and motivates direct reports to ensure that a capable, productive staff exists in the department. Meets with internal and external end users and department leaders to assist in analyzing variances and identifying trends, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting or related area with at least 150 hours and is CPA eligible Required
  • Minimum 7 years experience Progressive experience in accounting Required
  • Minimum 4 years experience Experience in a healthcare setting Required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years experience In a supervisory or management role Preferred
