About The Position

The Superintendent is the "boots on the ground" leader for the project site. You are responsible for the daily management of field operations, ensuring that the work is performed safely, stays on schedule, and meets strict quality standards. You will act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and craft labor to keep the project moving forward efficiently.

Requirements

Field Experience: Solid experience supervising field craft labor and managing subcontractors on large-scale projects.
Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of various construction aspects, including concrete, building shells, interiors, and MEP systems.
Leadership Skills: The ability to motivate a field team, communicate clearly with diverse groups, and maintain professional relationships.
Proactive Mindset: Someone who is self-motivated and can anticipate project needs before they become problems.
Physical Readiness: Capability to be on your feet, walk large job sites, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds as required by site conditions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.

Responsibilities

Field Supervision: Directly oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field labor to ensure all work aligns with design documents and contract requirements.
Safety Coordination: Actively enforce the project safety plan to maintain an injury-free job site.
Scheduling & Sequencing: Assist in planning and coordinating the daily sequence of work to meet project milestones.
Quality Control: Ensure all installations, including base building concrete, building shell, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, adhere to high-quality standards.
Material Procurement: Manage the onsite delivery and procurement of materials needed for upcoming phases of work.
Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot field conflicts early to prevent delays in the construction schedule.
