About The Position

The Northern New England Field Supervisor is to lead the team in efficient project execution, ensuring safe work practices and ongoing field training for the field technicians. This position is a leadership role for someone who is goal oriented, has good time management and is capable of leading team members. Your responsibilities are to supervise the field crews on current jobs, maintain day-to-day operations and keep an updated dialog with the Service Team to be relayed back to relevant office personnel. This role requires a Field Supervisor to be calm under pressure, always willing to learn new management skills/techniques and willingness to assist with upper management. Responsible to supervise and provide hands on installation and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. 80% of the time is spent out in the field supervising projects and 20% of time is spent in the office. This is a working supervisory position. Duties will include but are not limited to: Providing stock lists for parts/materials/ equipment, Providing project updates for billing, scheduling in addition to other administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Possess any necessary licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Minimum 5 years related Fire Sprinkler experience.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 25, 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20 and any other relevant codes.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Proficiency with using PC’s, including working knowledge of MS Excel / Word as well as iPhone/iPad apps.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Understand time management and maintain project schedules.
  • Willing to participate in additional trainings and continuing education to further trade knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sprinkler Manager, Project Manager and Field Coordinator to ensure the jobs meet our financial and operational goals.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the Fire Sprinkler Division and the efficiency of Fire Sprinkler personnel.
  • Ensure that the technical personnel are highly trained in our services and products as well as safety.
  • Learn and ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes.
  • Protect the company’s assets.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Service Manager or Managing Member.
  • Talk to the technicians daily for updates on the job status to relay and update relevant office staff.
  • Make onsite visits to active jobs and jobs that are upcoming projects.
  • Conduct Quality control inspections with team to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Conduct Safety Inspections to review upcoming and ongoing projects.
  • Complete Job Hazard Analysis for upcoming jobs, identifying risks and best practices to mitigate hazards; Coordinating with Safety team where necessary.
  • Conduct Post incident visit on jobs, should incident occur and provide relevant information to office.
  • Assist with Project scheduling and coordination as needed.
