If you’ve been learning to weld in school and want real shop experience—not classroom reps—this is your opportunity. At JGM, our Summer Welding Interns work alongside experienced craftsmen fabricating large-scale structural steel components used in bridges, buildings, and industrial projects. This is hands-on, production-based experience where you’ll build skills that translate directly into a full-time career. What You’ll Experience Hands-on welding using FCAW (Flux-Core)—our primary process Working from blueprints and weld symbols in a real production environment Learning proper fit-up, prep, and weld sequencing Use of overhead cranes, material handling equipment, and shop tools Understanding AWS D1.1 and D1.5 welding standards Real-time feedback from experienced welders and supervisors
