The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites eligible candidates to apply for a volunteer/unpaid internship with the Maryland Park Service. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in the park system. This Seasonal Ranger Volunteer opportunity offers hands-on experience in park operations and natural resource management. As a Seasonal Volunteer Ranger, you will assist park staff with a variety of duties, including visitor services, environmental education, trail maintenance, and resource protection. This role is ideal for those interested in conservation, outdoor recreation, or gaining experience in the park system while helping ensure a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for all park visitors. The main purpose of this position requires good communication skills and the ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Duties will vary depending on the needs of the park and time of year, but will include: The internship runs approximately 17 weeks between June through October. The specific start/end dates, hours, and schedule will be determined in collaboration between the intern and supervisor.
