About The Position

Part-time Summer Student Intern, 10-15 hours per week (13 weeks) The Summer Intern will primarily support a multi‑state, cross‑sectional study evaluating access to HIV‑related services and harm‑reduction products in community pharmacies. This study will assess the dynamic availability of integrated HIV and overdose prevention services, guide state and organizational policies to improve equitable access, and co-design practical strategies to overcome access barriers. Using a mystery‑caller ("secret shopper") approach, the intern will assist with data collection, data verification, and documentation of pharmacy responses. There may be opportunities to support other projects under the hiring research portfolio. This role offers hands‑on experience in public health research, qualitative/structured data collection, and implementation of mixed‑methods study protocols. The intern will work closely with investigators and research staff to ensure accurate and consistent study procedures across all participating sites.

Requirements

  • High School, Undergraduate, Master's or Postgraduate enrollment required.
  • Excellent planning, prioritizing, oral/written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and team skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties including patient and family visits, delivery of support services, studies, investigations, research projects, and other assignments.
  • Provides administrative coverage of the office such as answering phone and maintaining computer data.
  • Types documents such as letters and creates spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Assists with research projects, data analysis, and/or creating various reports.
  • Assists with entering data and filing.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with all levels within the System and with the public.
