About The Position

Selected Summer Resident Assistants (RA) will be employed from May 30, 2026 to July 31st, 2026 and will receive complimentary housing and a meal plan. The Summer Resident Assistant will also receive a monthly stipend of $470.00 per month. The hours worked per week will not exceed 20 hours, which will include time spent on duty rotation. While serving on this duty rotation, the Summer Resident Assistant will spend the rest of their allotted time per week in one of the functional areas within the Office of Residence Life with specific mandatory dates provided to them in their offer letter.

Requirements

The Office of Residence Life is looking for hardworking, goal-orientated, students with excellent time management skills who want to develop their interest in higher education.
Students must have a good academic standing of a 2.5 GPA and good standing in judicial conduct to be considered.

Responsibilities

Partners with an Office of Residence Life professional staff member to assist with summer projects
Participate in duty-rotations, which includes assisting CD on Duty and Campus Security in crisis response/management, student lockouts and walk-throughs of residential communities
Perform key audits to ensure each residential area has substantial amounts of extra keys
Summer Advantage and Summer Session 2 move in/move out process
Promote community development in residential areas
Other duties as assigned by the Office of Residence Life
Outreach and student support, including panther chats and policy response
Supports campus and Summer programming initiatives
Check-Ins and Check-Outs: Summer RAs are expected to assist with any early check-ins and may be called on throughout the summer to assist with checking-in/out a student from their room and conduct health and safety inspections.
Duty: Summer RAs will be on regular rotation for the different communities in use: 3-4 Weekends (Split Friday and Saturday)
Assist with CAT Programming
Hourly Rounds
Panther Chats (include in job description)
Student Check-Ins
Special Events: The Summer RA should be prepared to assist the Office of Residence Life with any special events that it sponsors: Admissions Tabling Events, etc.
