About The Position

The Summer Laborer (May/June through August/September) supports safe and efficient site operations by performing general labor duties, inspections, light mechanical work, and site maintenance. This role contributes to maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while gaining exposure to mining operations and equipment. This is a temporary summer position (3 months) is based out of Winnemucca, NV with site based work performed across the Nevada sites. The schedule is Monday - Thursday, 4 -10-hour shifts with occasional overtime as required. Some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at hire date and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Must be a 2026 high school graduate or a college/vocational student enrolled in the 2026 fall semester.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet physical demands and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must pass physical exam, drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • General understanding of mining, maintenance, or mechanical systems preferred.
  • Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work safely and in compliance with company policies, MSHA regulations, and environmental standards
  • Conduct pre-shift and workplace inspections; identify, report, and help mitigate safety and environmental hazards
  • Perform general labor duties including shoveling, material handling, and site clean-up
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas
  • Operate and assist in maintaining support equipment such as light vehicles, skid steers, and forklifts
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, including reporting unsafe conditions
  • Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and accountability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
