About The Position

United Nations Federal Credit Union is looking for eager interns to support our business operations during the summer of 2026. By joining our internship program, you will have the opportunity to work closely with an assigned department, alongside colleagues who will provide you with hands-on projects, and daily tasks. You will acquire the necessary skills to development your professional competencies needed for future career success and acclimation to the corporate workforce. In addition, you will gain insight to management styles and organizational culture at the corporate level. UNFCU is dedicated to providing a well-rounded program with valuable work experiences that cultivates new talent. We currently have internships available in the following departments: Corporate Marketing, Enterprise Risk Management, Global Impact & Inclusion, Information Technology and Lending Operations. This 10-week summer internship program is open to college level students and will run from June - August. Interns will work a hybrid schedule, requiring 1-2 days per week onsite in our Long Island City, NY headquarters. This is a $25/hour paid internship. Course credit also available upon successful completion of the program. To be considered for the internship positions, please submit your application by 13 February 2026 at 5PM ET.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, General Education Development (GED), or high school equivalent certificate
  • Some college coursework required
  • Ability to multi-task and utilize multiple systems simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess a professional attitude and strong desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Previous internship experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provides entry- to intermediate-level administrative and operational support in alignment with the functions of assigned department
  • Participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise while supporting the needs of the organization.
  • Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
  • Conducts original research and prepares reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
  • May participate in related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the assigned department
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
