About The Position

BPC has a robust spring internship program. Interns work full time and will receive a $6,000 stipend for ten weeks of work. Interns must be a rising Junior or above. Applicants must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate program or a be recent graduate. Interns will provide functional support, conduct research, and work directly with project analysts and staff in various capacities. Our Summer Internship program runs from June 1 to August 7, 2026. Please note that this summer internship is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, with on-site work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at BPC’s office at 1225 I (Eye) Street in Washington, DC. Relocation assistance will not be provided. Project Description BPC’s J. Ronald Terwilliger Center for Housing Policy was launched to support bipartisan policies that help realize the goal of a decent, safe, and affordable home for every American. BPC’s Housing Team informs and engages policymakers through in-depth and timely research, virtual and in-person events, technical assistance, and more.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program(rising junior or above),graduate program, or be a be recent graduate
  • Detailed understanding of the legislative process
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Efficient worker with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong interest in housing policyissues,such as homelessness,the Housing Choice Voucher program, andhousing finance

Responsibilities

  • Research, includingliterature reviews,datacollection andanalysis,and legislative analysis
  • Writing, including drafting explainers, articles,orone-pagers
  • Crafting newslettersand weekly team communications
  • Attendingand summarizingexternal events and congressional hearings
  • Preparing for and running internaland externalevents, including the Center’s annual housing summit.
  • assist with projects related to disaster response and transportation policy.
