About The Position

A pivotal aspect of this internship is the candidate's dual interest in both the creative and business facets of the entertainment industry. Although the intern's primary role will be within the BA/Legal department, they will be encouraged to engage with various teams across the organization to gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry's entire lifecycle. This internship involves participation and exposure to creative, production, and administrative processes—from conducting research and analysis of industry trends to providing support across departments. The intern will also have the unique opportunity to shadow employees, gaining insights into different facets of the business.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school program
  • Interest in all facets of entertainment law – from scripted television, non-scripted and documentary, to labor and international.
  • Strong academic record and legal research skills.
  • High degree of discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to foster collaboration across organizational levels, global offices, and worldwide time zones.
  • Entrepreneurially minded and thrives in fast-paced environments, adept at proactively navigating change, and driving creative solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Course work related to contracts, copyright, and media law (helpful but not required).
  • Prior internship or work experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Business and Legal Affairs group in the areas of scripted television, labor, non-scripted, documentary, and international.
  • Draft relevant correspondence and agreements related to development and production.
  • Revise, redline and proofread agreements.
  • Research and analyze various legal issues pertinent to studio development and production.
  • Assist the broader legal team with production-related matters.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other legal duties as assigned.
  • Attend weekly BA/Legal department meeting(s).
