About The Position

The Role The Legal Intern for the Business & Legal Affairs department will be an integral part of our team responsible for assisting our legal team and partnering closely with our talent management team and our creators. You are excited by the opportunity to strategize and build key relationships for the business, and you show an interest and passion for the creator space. We’ll look to you as our subject matter assistant in all things legal, but will make sure that you are supported in your role and work together on new challenges together.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited law school (2L and 3L preferred but not required)
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of contract and general corporate law, clearance and copyright, entertainment, technology and privacy law
  • Knowledge of industry deals and practices
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Word
  • Confident, self-motivated, can work well independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the digital influencer, social media, entertainment, or digital marketing spaces
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive, in-house environment and manage a high volume of transactions
  • Good business judgment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research
  • Research relevant laws, regulations, and case law affecting the influencer and entertainment industry, including intellectual property, privacy, employment, and contract law.
  • Investigate updates in social media policies, FTC guidelines, advertising standards, and platform-specific rules to ensure compliance.
  • Draft memos on emerging legal issues, providing a concise analysis for the business and legal teams.
  • Review and revise branded content, marketing, talent management, licensing, and appearance agreements
  • Provide expertise regarding laws, regulations, industry customs and practices related to short-form digital programming, e-commerce, retail, political communications and tech
  • Liaise with other departments, such as talent management and marketing, to address legal questions regarding creator agreements, brand guidelines, and campaign execution.
  • Prepare deal summaries for use by marketing, content, finance, etc.
  • Organize and maintain a database of executed agreements, ensuring easy access and retrieval of contract information.
  • Analyze and advise on the ramifications and relative risk of deal structures
