About The Position

The Department of Revenue's core mission is to collect the revenues required to support the business of the Commonwealth, to make a difference in the lives of children by enforcing the financial responsibilities of parenthood, and to assist Massachusetts cities and towns in sound and efficient fiscal management. The intern will work closely with the Deputy Director of DOR’s Office of Ethics & Employee Responsibility on projects supporting the office’s audit preparation and the review and updating of internal procedures. This role offers hands-on experience assisting with documentation, compliance readiness, and process improvement initiatives. In addition, the intern may assist with special projects relative to physical security.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and review internal OEER procedures to ensure compliance with external audits expected of OEER (DCJIS, IRS, FBI, etc.).
  • Identify areas for streamlining internal practices, policies, and procedures.
  • To ensure compliance with IRS Publication 1075, assist in the reconciliation of assigned-employee building access.
