About The Position

Studio Distribution Services (SDS) is a joint venture between Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures. We are the leading distributor for the entertainment industry, responsible for the Sales, Retail Marketing and Supply Chain of home entertainment products for both studios. We manage sales and distribution of new release and library content of both film and television for a wide range of famous labels, including Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Legendary Entertainment, Focus Features, HBO, DreamWorks Animation, and Illumination Entertainment. The hourly rate is $18/hour The duration of the internship program is approximately 10 weeks and reports to the Director of Retail Planning. This position is primarily in-office, Tuesday through Thursday with standard office hours between 10:00am and 4:00pm. The Sales Intern is expected to work closely with Retail Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Buyers to assist in the optimization of profitable sales at Walmart, Amazon, and Direct to Consumers. The successful candidate will lead a project to deliver high-quality, fully integrated omni-channel consumer experiences for our key new releases and brands. They will be responsible for optimizing content quality scores and ensuring marketing and merchandising alignment at stores and online. All interns will also be required to present their project and associated work to their department and/or all of SDS.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with online content quality score optimization and metadata accuracy across Walmart’s online assortment. Analyze impact of investments and present concepts to improve the initiative.
  • Develop and implement process to ensure alignment of all in-store and online activity and work with relevant stakeholders to address any areas of opportunity.
  • Recap weekly in-store activity at key retailers and on Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and GRUV.com. Identify “buzz-worthy” promotions and items (e.g., exclusives, steelbooks or premium giftsets) and unique marketing or merchandising executions.
  • Audit page integrity for new releases and key catalog items at online retailers (Amazon.com, Walmart.com and GRUV.com)
  • Promotional readiness, compliance, and review (online): Product page checks ahead of promotions to ensure product integrity Regular page audits through the duration of promotions Develop a post-promotional recap for the sales team (e.g., merchandising screenshots, best sellers list activity, offsite/organic feature details) with notable learnings from the promotion
  • Provide support on critical business functions (new item set-up and maintenance) and major projects (modular draw week and in-store/online promotional events).
  • With guidance from the team, explore and apply approved AI tools relevant to the role, responsibly integrating AI to enhance efficiency and reimagine the way we work.
