Our Data & Analytics team is on a mission to turn well‑managed information into real business value. As a summer intern you’ll join a high‑energy, fast‑paced group of data professionals and get hands‑on experience with data science, visualization, and data‑architecture projects. You’ll learn how to apply modern analytics tools while contributing to real‑world solutions that help Reworld innovate.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Junior or Senior) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Coursework in programming (Python or R), databases (SQL), statistics, and basic machine‑learning concepts.
  • Ability to clean, explore, and visualize data; comfort with numerical reasoning and simple statistical tests.
  • Motivated self-starter who is passionate about sustainability and interested in learning more about innovative waste solutions.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, safety-oriented environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Python (or R)
  • Familiarity with pandas, NumPy, or similar data‑handling libraries
  • Experience with SQL (SELECT queries)
  • Exposure to Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Qlik (even from class projects)

Nice To Haves

  • Introductory knowledge of scikit‑learn, NLTK, or TensorFlow (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on Mini‑Projects – Work side‑by‑side with senior analysts to explore business problems, gather data, and prototype analytical solutions.
  • Data Exploration & Requests – Help identify and request data from internal and external sources (SQL databases, APIs, simple IoT feeds, spreadsheets).
  • Assist with ETL Basics – Support the build and testing of simple extract‑transform‑load pipelines for structured data (e.g., CSV, Excel) and get exposure to handling unstructured files.
  • Tool‑Based Analysis – Use Python (or R) and libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, and NLTK to clean data, perform basic statistical analysis, and create quick visual insights.
  • Visualization Support – Build dashboards or static reports in Power BI or MicroStrategy to communicate findings to business partners.
  • Present Findings – Prepare short presentations or written summaries that explain your work in plain language for non‑technical audiences.
  • Mentorship & Growth – Attend weekly mentor sessions, technical brown‑bag talks, and team “innovation labs” to expand your skill set.
