Summer Elementary Nurse
About The Position
Primary Objective: The 2026 summer elementary nurse position is a seasonal position and is responsible for carrying out the district's health program, as defined by district policies and the Missouri Department of Health regulations. Essential Functions: Performs skilled nursing procedures as necessary in a safe, competent and efficient manner. Administers medications in a safe and therapeutic manner according to physicians’ orders and consistent with school policy and state laws and regulations. Maintains student health records as prescribed by school policy and state laws and regulations. Maintains strict confidentiality related to student and staff issues. Uses effective written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Collaborates with other school professionals, parents, and caregivers to meet the health, developmental and educational needs of students. Is professional, caring, flexible, and enjoys working with children and their families Complies with all WGSD Board policies and procedures Is proactive, collaborative, and willing Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must hold a current/valid RN license.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred (from accredited Nursing School)
- Pediatric nursing experience is preferred
- Experience with children in a school setting is preferred
- Is professional, caring, flexible, and enjoys working with children and their families
- Is proactive, collaborative, and willing
