About The Position

Yes, it is cold outside, but Horizon Education Centers is gearing up for the 2026 summer camp for children from kindergarten through 8th grade! We are looking for energetic individuals who can help make this summer a great adventure for the kids we serve. Our theme this year is "Under the Sea", and we are sure it will be spectacular! You will be able to help children experience hands-on activities, monitor them on field trips, and other exciting opportunities as well. Apply today and come be a part of the team! School-Age Summer Camp Staff Locations Currently Hiring: We are still determining the number of positions at each location, but we are actively recruiting, so we are ready to roll when the time comes! Wage Information: Full-time or Part-time hourly position; pay rate of $13.75 per hour Hours are typically Full-time 9am until 6pm Monday through Friday, other shifts or part-time hours may be available. Reports to: Center Director

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Enjoy working outdoors
  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
  • Have a willingness to follow DCY rules and regulations and required training
  • We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required
  • Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices
  • Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit
  • May be asked to go to multiple classrooms in a single day to cover breaks, and maintain ratio
  • Plan and implement with the lead teacher engaging age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for each day
  • Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required
  • Assist in documentation for services provided, progress reports, and attendance
  • Have fun with the students!
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information
  • All other duties as needed/assigned
