About The Position

Job Purpose: - Help fuel an unforgettable camp experience for youth living with diabetes by ensuring nutritious and delicious meals are prepared and served efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food service or kitchen environments
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to assist in large-scale meal preparation and service
• Strong understanding of portioning and consistency in meal preparation
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in nutrition or culinary arts
• Previous experience working alongside a registered dietitian or healthcare team
• Completion of nutrition or culinary coursework
• ServSafe certification
• Experience in foodservice or kitchen environments
• Knowledge of nutritional requirements for youth living with diabetes
• Familiarity with ServSafe protocols and certification

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal and snack preparation to ensure timely and nutritious offerings for campers.
• Support large-scale meal service, ensuring that all campers receive their meals promptly.
• Follow food safety and sanitation practices to maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
• Help with portioning and consistency to ensure meals meet dietary guidelines and standards.
• Work alongside a registered dietitian and healthcare team to accommodate the nutritional needs of campers with diabetes.
